The Elizabeth Line
IELTS Medical provide in person and online training, in-person training is delivered at our central London training centre, in Paddington.
A large number of our learners at IELTS Medical come from outside of London in order to train with us, many of these learners arrive by rail. There are many different London railway stations that have passengers arriving from different regions of the UK, depending on where you’re travelling from, the station you arrive at will be different.
Some examples include:
Euston: Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham.
Kings Cross: Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cambridge.
Liverpool Street: Essex, Norwich.
Waterloo: Southampton, Guildford, Portsmouth.
The Elizabeth line is a newly opened service on the London underground/ national rail network. It is a hybrid suburban/urban service which connects Reading and Shenfield to central London (Reading to the west and Shenfield to the east).
Due to the high-speed trains and newly designed underground route, this service is extremely efficient for commuters travelling into London from outside the city.
To travel from Reading to Paddington, where our training is delivered takes 40 minutes, which is a significant improvement compared with travel times before the Elizabeth line began running. Also, Shenfield to Paddington has a similar commute time, taking 50 minutes to arrive in central London.

If you’re one of our learners heading to attend in person courses with us at IELTS Medical, making use of this transport link could greatly reduce your commute times. If you live close to any of the stations on the Elizabeth line, it’s definitely worth using to attend our training centre. Paddington is a 10-minute walk from our training centre.
